Yalla, Let's Eat Banana Bread!

Almond Streusel Banana Bread

Bake Time: 1 hour and 10- 15 min at 350 °F 


  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 cup butter room temperature

  • 3/4 cup brown sugar

  • 2 eggs

  • 3-4 overripe bananas

  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon 

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla


  • ½ cup of brown sugar 

  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon 

  • 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)

  • ½ stick of melted butter 

  • 2/3 cup flour


  1. Butter and flour a 9X5 pan. 

  2. Sift flour baking soda and salt in a separate bowl. 

  3. Cream butter and brown sugar together. On low add one egg at a time until blended. Add your nutmeg, cinnamon, vanilla and bananas to the bowl. 

  4. Add your dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined. You can add chocolate chips and nuts at this step. 

  5. Add the mixture to the pan. Top with streusel. 

  6. Bake for an hour and ten min to an hour and 15 min. You can cover the loaf the first half of the baking process to keep moist. Make sure that the middle is cooked. 

  7. Let it completely cool. Yalla, let's eat!
