I know I know! It's about time! It's THE BEST recipe you'll ever find for mac and cheese! So let's get cracking. Make this for your next Thanksgiving or just any random day when you get the craving! The secret here is the American Cheese to get you that velvet vibes👌🏽



Just some chef notes:

  • I personally prefer this cheese because it has a smooth taste and it also melts very well. Fontina, Provolone, Muenster, and Colby Jack are also very good options. If you like a little heat, Pepper Jack Cheese is an awesome alternative.

  • While you are making your rue, cook your elbows for only 5 minutes or when it has a bite to it. You don’t want to cook it all the way through because you’ll be sticking it in the oven to bake.

  • Could use milk or fat-free half and half whatever your heart desires! Spoon in the sauce and take it out. Take your finger and make a streak. If the streak stays, it’s thick enough. If the streak doesn’t stay, you need more flour and butter. I take 1 tablespoon of flour, put it in a ceramic mug with a tablespoon of butter. Zap for 30 seconds. Mix well and add to your sauce.
